Strategic Plan for the Climate Change Science Program

Draft by the agencies and staff of the US Climate Science Program.

Report Reconciles Atmospheric Temperature Trends

First of 21 reports from the U.S. Climate Change Science Program significantly revises, updates conclusions from previous key reports

Hydrogen prototype A-Class is a total gas

The evolution of hydrogen fuel cells has been remarkable. Just a few years ago the propulsion systems were so bulky that only large vehicles and trucks had enough space for them. Now, small vehicles are whirring around in demonstration fleets, their motors spinning on electricity produced by hydrogen fuel cells tucked neatly out of the way.

President Bush Speaks to U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Conference, April 20, 2005

"We have enough coal to last for 250 years, yet coal also prevents an environmental challenge. The energy bill now being considered before Congress would help us make cleaner use of this resource by authorizing more than a billion dollars for the Clean Coal Power Initiative, a program that will encourage new technologies that remove virtually all pollutants from coal-fired power plants."

Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger's California Hydrogen Highway Network Action Plan

"The goal of the California Hydrogen Highway Network initiative is to support and catalyze a rapid transition to a clean, hydrogen transportation economy in California, thereby reducing our dependence on foreign oil, and protecting our citizens from health harms related to vehicle emissions."

Clean Coal Conference, Remarks by Secretary of Energy Spencer Abraham, Nov 17, 2003

"Clean coal is a cornerstone of our current energy portfolio, particularly for power generation, and it will continue to be for the long-term future."
