    The evolution of hydrogen fuel cells has been remarkable. Just a few years ago the propulsion systems were so bulky that only large vehicles and trucks had enough space for them. Now, small vehicles are whirring around in demonstration fleets, their motors spinning on electricity produced by hydrogen fuel cells tucked neatly out of the way.
